Boutique Style Wipe Case

(Don't mind that I misspelled Boutique in the picture above)
Today I went to my local ribbon store and while I was there I saw these adorable boutique style wipe cases. I have been oohing and awing over them the past several times I have gone in and today was the day I decided to finally make one...Or two...
Supplies:
  • Batting
  • Scissors
  • Hot glue gun and glue of course!
  • 2.5 inch wide satin ribbon
  • embellishment of some sort. I like flowers!
  • Huggies Wipe case
First you are going to glue some batting onto your wipe case. I laid my wipe case on top of the batting and cut around it to get my size I needed.
Glue the batting down to your wipe case and trim the excess off.
You will need 1/3 yard of 2.5 in ribbon. I like to use the satin stuff! On the raw edge lay a thin strip of glue down. Fold over to make a nice clean edge.
Make sure to center your ribbon in the middle of the wipe case. Glue down the edge.
Wrap the ribbon around to the back side gluing the outer edges along the way.
Fold the other raw edge over and glue down as previously done before.
You will need 2/3 yards of this Wired Rose Ribbon. You can find it here

Cut your 2/3 yard of fabric in half giving you two pieces. Follow the same steps as before, folding over your raw edge, gluing down, wrapping it around, and gluing again. Do this to both sides. Be sure and start gluing the inner edge of the ribbon right next to the snap closure part in the front where the lip thing is. This should give you a perfect fit.
Glue the outer edges down.
You are going to need to fold your corners in and glue down. Just work with it until you can get it to lay good. It should be fairly easy to do. Glue it in place once you do. It should look like the picture above.
On the back where is opens put a small dot of glue in the middle of the ribbon.
Fold in down so it lays nice and finish gluing the sides.
There you have it. Almost done. Now its up to you how to make it fancy. I put another ribbon in the middle to make it a little more fun and then added a flower on top.
Have fun with it! I think I just may have to go and make another one now! I'm in LOVE!

If you had difficulties understanding my tutorial here is a video tutorial you can watch on how to make these as well.

  3. Yes, I added the batting on the top and the bottom of the case. It's not a necessary step but I personally like the little extra cushion that it gives!
