Argyle Nails

Who doesn't love having cute nails? Especially in the summer time when it seems we are constantly wearing flip flops, swimming at the pools, or hopefully relaxing on the sand at the beach. A few years ago I really got into doing nail art. I studied and studied different techniques on how to do cute nails and I have now started a small business doing nail parties. I know for me it is hard to go get a pedicure and spend the $20.00 and then have to pay another $5-10 to get a flower or design. I thought I would share with you today how to do your own argyle nails so you can have fashionable nails all year round without the price tag.
Supplies
  • Base coat
  • Polish
  • Acrylic paint in whatever colors you choose
  • Nail art brush (I purchased mine at Sally's)
  • Top coat
First you are going to start off by applying your base coat. Let that dry and apply your colored polish. I used shocking pink by China Glaze.
Next get your nail art brush and put some white paint on it. Then do a half diamond like above. Try and get the point in the middle of your nail.
Do another half diamond the other direction
Repeat on the other side of your nail.
Fill in the diamonds with white paint. Then paint small diamonds on your remaining toes.
With your black paint draw two diagonal lines through your diamonds like above.
Repeat going the opposite direction.
Put x's on top of the diamonds on your other toes and then seal with a good top coat. I like the brand seche vite which can be purchased at Sally's or Ulta.
And here you have it the finished product. You can switch out the colors however you want. I personally like the diamonds to be white and the stripes to be black and whatever color you fancy as your base. I hope this tutorial was helpful for you guys on how to get cute toes without having to go pay a fortune to get them done. If you don't get them perfect the first time don't get discouraged. Practice makes perfect!
