Cheese Ball

My husband is a cheese, crackers, and salami type of guy. Generally he will just settle for sliced cheese, but every year at Christmas time he makes these delicious cheese balls. This year was no exception and since we have a family party to go to he decided to go ahead and make some cheese balls up last night. No complaining here when the husband takes charge in the kitchen! These make for great appetizers at parties or get togethers.

Cheese Balls-Makes 2

Ingredients-
2-8 oz blocks of cream cheese softened
1/3 Cup green onion finely chopped
1/2 tsp garlic salt
2 Tbsp parsley
1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
1/4 tsp paprika
12 oz grated cheddar cheese
Crushed nuts if desired.

Directions-
In a large bowl combine all ingredients and mix together well with a spoon or your hands. (I find it easier to mix with your hands) Divide mixture up into two parts and roll into a ball. You can leave it like this or you can roll the cheese ball into crushed nuts of your choice. I used pecans since that is what I had on hand but walnuts and sliced almonds would be delicious too. Wrap cheese ball in saran wrap and store in fridge. Serve at room temperature with crackers of your choice.
