White Chocolate Peppermint Rice Krispy Treats

As I was walking down the isles of the grocery store the other day I came across some peppermint marshmallows. These caught my eye as I LOVE peppermint things. I was contemplating what I could use them for, besides putting in my hot chocolate, and the thought came to me... RICE KRISPY TREATS!!!! I am such a kid at heart and could eat an entire pan of these things. Of course I had to dress them up a bit so here is my version of a Christmas rice krispy treat that both adults and kids can enjoy!

Ingredients-
3 Tbsp butter
4 cups +1  miniature peppermint marshmallows
6 cups rice krispies cereal
2 Crushed candy canes
White chocolate
Directions-
In a large saucepan melt butter on low heat. Add the marshmallows and stir until completely melted. Remove from heat and add rice krispies until the cereal is completely covered by marshmallow mixture. Pour one cup peppermint marshmallows into the rice krispie treats and mix. You don't want these marshmallows to melt all of the way. Evenly press mixture into a greased 9x13 pan.
Place a couple candy canes into a bag and smash them into little pieces. Sprinkle the candy canes over the rice krispie treats while still warm and press them down so they don't fall off when cutting. In a microwave safe bowl melt white chocolate chips or melting chocolates in 30 second intervals on 50% heat stirring in between each set. Once completely melted ,pour chocolate into a piping bag or sandwich bag, cut the very tip off and drizzle chocolate over rice krispie treats. Let cool and cut up into squares. Best if served the same day.

Want to dress them up a little more?! Sprinkle edible glitter on top to give them that winter wonderland look and top each square off with white chocolate snowflakes. To make the snowflakes use any left over melted white chocolate and on wax paper pipe out an X with a smaller x inside it. Put dots on the end of each line. Put in fridge and allow to cool. Once they are hardened they will slide right off of the wax paper. Place on top of the rice krispie treats by putting a dab of melted chocolate on the back of the snowflake and lightly setting on top of the rice kripsie square.
